MetroParks of Butler County offers outdoor space and recreation at 14 parks and approximately 5,000 acres across the county. MetroParks began in 1955, when a group of concerned citizens came together with the common purpose to preserve and restore natural areas in Butler County and formed the Butler County Park Board. Today, the parks offer opportunities to hike, bike, walk, paddle and enjoy the outdoors. The community’s flagship facility, Voice of America MetroPark is nestled in the heart of West Chester Township. This 435-acre park features a 35-acre stocked lake, nine miles of combined paved and natural trails, the Lodge, the Voice of America Athletic Field Complex, Chill Hill Sledding hill, a Cricket Field, a large natural meadow area, and Wiggly Field Dog Park. Visitors can fish, boat, walk, jog, or just sit and enjoy the view.
